Brunei Darussalam’s teqball team of Ismail Ang and Mohammad Hanis Hidayatullah bin Abdullah lost all their matches and failed to clinch a spot in the quarterfinal of the doubles teqball event at the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026 on Sunday.
They lost in straight sets 12-4, 12-6 to the Iraq duo of Ali Jalil and Radhi Abdulrahman Ahmed Radhi in their first match in Group C.
In the second match, the Brunei team put up a spirited fight but lost to North Korea in straight sets 12-7, 12-8.
This was the team’s first-ever participation in teqball. – JAMES KON
