Hannah Tan Zi Lin secured Brunei’s second medal at the 10th World Junior Wushu Championships in Tianjin, China, winning bronze in the Girls’ Group C Taijijian event.
The 10-year-old, the youngest member of the national contingent, delivered an impressive performance in her debut at a major international competition, finishing on the podium.
Under the guidance of head coach Li Hui and coach Zhao Chunjie, Hannah has shown significant progress through disciplined training.
“As coaches, we are extremely proud of her achievement. We are very satisfied with her performance in her first competition,” said Li Hui.
With the conclusion of the championships, the Brunei wushu team finished with one silver and one bronze medal.
Looking ahead, the team has shifted its focus to the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, with preparations already underway to compete on a larger stage.
The team also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Brunei Olympic Council and the Brunei Wushu Federation for their continued support, pledging to train harder and strive for further success internationally. – James Kon
