National pencak silat exponents to compete in Jakarta

BRUNEI Darussalam national pencak silat exponents will compete in the Road to Asian Games 2018 in Padepokan, Jakarta from February 10-15.

Norleyermah Haji Raya, who won bronze in the artistic event in the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, will be the nation’s hope in the women’s artistic singles with Elmi bin Zaini taking part in the Class ‘B’ Tanding and Zainorarif bin Zaini in the Class ‘D’ Tanding event.

The team will be led by Haji Adanan Ahad as manager and assisted by Hassan Haji Tuah as the tanding and artistic coach.

Prior to their departure, a shirt handing over ceremony by Pengiran Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Ludin, President of the Brunei Darussalam Pencak Silat Federation (PERSIB) was held.

The technical meeting and draw of the event will be held today at the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT) Office.
