BRUNEI Darussalam’s contingent consisting of one athlete and three officers departed to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to participate in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017 from September 17 to 27.

Ahmad Taufiq M Murni will be joining in the billiards event accompanied by Lim Tat Hwe, Cue Sports National Coach; Nursulhi binti Haji Tuah, official; and Colonel Zahrin bin Haji Zunaidi, the Chef de Mission.

Present to bid farewell at the Departure Hall of the Brunei International Hall was Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports who also gave a pep talk to the athlete.

Ahmad Taufiq told the Bulletin that he trained continuously and will give his best.

“I got fifth place in AIGAM 2013 in Incheon, Korea and would like to get a better result, Insya Allah. I will concentrate and perform well on each round. I will try my best to reach the semi-finals and the final if I can get through. I hope I can make Brunei proud in this Pan-Continental Multi-Sports event which takes place once every four years.”
