Mohammad Adi Salihin to be flag bearer

NATIONAL Wushu athlete Mohammad Adi Salihin bin Roslan is set to lead the Brunei Darussalam Contingent at the opening ceremony of the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday evening. He is Brunei Darussalam’s flag bearer at the ceremony.

Mohammad Adi Salihin in an interview at the Brunei International Airport before departing to Kuala Lumpur said, “It is a privilege to carry Brunei’s national flag in the opening ceremony. This will be one of my proudest moments in my life as I will be carrying the flag of the nation in the ceremony.”

Mohammad Adi Salihin will be competing in the individual Nanquan, Nandao and Nangun events of Wushu.

A total of 72 athletes and officials, which is the final group of Brunei’s Contingent, left Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning for the 29th SEA Games 2017.

Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was on hand to bid the athletes good luck at the Brunei International Airport.

The athletes comprised athletic, wushu, lawn bowl, karate-do, fencing, cycling, golf and badminton.
