INTERNATIONAL Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia official Mageshwaran Saba arrived in the sultanate yesterday for an official assessment visit.
The purpose of the visit is to conduct a review and assessment of the current state of affairs of basketball in the country.
Saba will also meet with stakeholders in the sport, including the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports (MCYS), Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) and the Brunei Darussalam National Olympics Council (BDNOC).
Present to welcome Saba at the BBA basketball court in Batu Bersurat yesterday was the BBA President Lim Ting Guan and the committee members of the association.
Saba is currently on a long FIBA Assessment Tour covering 44 countries all over the world.
The tour which started on January 14 will conclude on October 30.
