One gold and one silver for Brunei at Dream Program

BRUNEI will return with one gold and one silver medal from the Dream Program in South Korea.

Hairol Aziq Rosmaini bagged gold after winning the beginner snowboarding event, finishing ahead of compatriot Umar Abdul Aziz Hj Abdul Mutalip in PyeongChang on Thursday. China won the bronze in the event which featured some 20 participants.

Brunei sent three Sports School athletes – with Mohammad Nasiruddin Abdullah Taha being the other – selected by the Brunei Darusslam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) to the Jan 17-29 event. They were accompanied by the Head of Sports Science, Muhammad Ali-Rashid Hj Mohammad Alipah, as their coach.

This year saw a total of 179 participants from 44 countries gather for the 12-day training camp in PyeongChang, which is the host city for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
