Mohd Sufi wins silver

MOHD Sufi Shayiran Roslan won silver in the nandao event at the 8th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in China on Thursday, maintaining the country's good track record in the tournament.

A total of 396 athletes from 24 countries are competing at the Aug 6-9 tournament in Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia, China, with Mohd Sufi going up against 15 of them in the nandao event.

Competing in the 7th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in Manila in 2013, Mohd Sufi Shayiran finished third in the nanquan event. Ang Guat Lian was the country's other medalist in the Philippine capital, where she finished third in the taijiquan event.

Lee Ying Shi and Faustina Woo Wai Sii won the duilian event during the 6th edition in Shanghai in 2011.
