A total of nine teams will be playing in the first-ever Temburong District Football League for the 2013/2014 season.

Persatuan Lun Bawang Murut Brunei (PLBMB), Persatuan Ikatan Belia Mukim Bokok (PIBMB), Puni Villa, Persatuan Belia-belia Rataie Temburong (PBBRT) FC, Menengah FC, Persatuan Masyarakat Iban Temburong (PMIT), Veteran Temburong, Seri Belayang Batang Tuau (SBBT) and Mukim Consultative Council (MPM) will compete in the tournament set to be held in Batu Apoi.

The launch of the league will be held this Sunday at the Temburong Sports Complex.

The secretary-general of the Temburong District Amateur Football Association (TAFA), Ah Chua Bangau, said that the league is implemented to realise the need for more organised district level competition.

Ah Chua said that the event aims to improve the quality of football and to shape discipline, spirit and responsibility among the team managers, players and football enthusiasts in the district who are involved directly or indirectly.

He went on to say that the league is also intended to search for new talent to be featured at the district level, national and subsequently in the international arena.

The league, which is organised by TAFA in collaboration with the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), is also held simultaneously with the Temburong Cup 2013/2014 competition.
