The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) yesterday announced that they will be organising the 2013 National Grassroots Festival next Sunday.
Held in conjunction with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Year, the festival will be held at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
The event will run from 7:30am to 11:30 am, according to a press release issued by NFABD.
Schoolchildren aged between six and 12 who are selected from various schools from the four districts will be participating in this festival.
Parents and members of the public are most welcome to the festival.
AFC's website states that through the AFC Grassroots Year and also AFC Grassroots Day, which fell on May 15, the AFC is encouraging member associations to organise activities to promote and emphasise that football is accessible and socially beneficial to everyone.
It also provides a strong foundation that will allow players to progress to the elite level.
