National cycling coach Yafiz Jamaludin is confident that his team will provide the goods with the recent confirmation of the national teams that will be participating in December's Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Myanmar.

Yafiz has short listed his team to his best six riders to take part in the games.

They will be Muhammad Raihaan Abd Aziz, I'maadi Abd Aziz, Ahmad Rifa'ie Hj Johor, Azmi@Loqman Hadzid, Muhammad Rafiuddin Zakaria and Reduan Yusop as the team captain.

Yafiz will now have to decide which of his riders will be competing in the cross country Olympic, individual time trial, team time trial, individual road race and team road race.

Yafiz told The Brunei Times in a recent interview, "I'm really excited and 100 per cent focused for our preparation for the upcoming SEA Games."

"If my plan flows through on the right schedule, we will definitely be able to bring back medals.

"Now my training will increase to five days with double sessions, one day of a long ride and one day of full rest," said Yafiz.

"A month before we fly to Myanmar I will put the riders through a training camp in Kundasang, Sabah to train them in high altitudes," said the Malaysian.

"This is a good opportunity for all the riders to show their credibility.

"They will also show how far Brunei cycling performance has got.

I hope to get support from everyone in Brunei and to pray for our cycling team to get medals," added Yafiz.
