Timor Leste top Group A

Timor Leste finished top of Group A after beating the Philippines 2-1 in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-19 Championship 2013 at the Petrokimia Gresik in Surabaya, Indonesia last night.

They advance as group winners after finishing with three wins and a draw for 10 points.

Laos had already booked their berth in the semi-finals having finished with three wins and a loss to their name.

However, it is a much tighter affair over in Group B.

Vietnam are the only ones that have already confirmed their slot in the next round after claiming top spot.

Hosts Indonesia are currently in second place on nine points while Malaysia are in third with seven.

They will square off in the decider at the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo today with the former just needing a draw to advance.

Meanwhile, Brunei will close out their campaign today against Vietnam at the Petrokimia Gresik today.

It has been a disappointing outing for the Sultanate having let in a total of 24 goals and scoring none so far.

The national team opened their campaign with a 5-0 loss to Indonesia before getting demolished 8-0 by Thailand.

They were then hammered 6-0 by Myanmar on before falling 5-0 to Malaysia on Monday.
