DPMM FC squandered a two goal lead to lose 5-2 to Woodlands Wellington FC in the Singapore League (S-League) at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore last night.

It was another disappointing night for Vjeran Simunic whose team now sit in eighth place in the 12-team table with 19 points.

Woodlands are sixth in the table with 23 points.

"Last time we won against Tanjong Pagar in the same way, after 2-0 down, we fight to win it 5-2, but this time we are the ones that lost," said Simunic after the match.

"We were very unlucky tonight. I think the first goal was a handball and the third goal was a foul, and I think we were very unfortunate not to score six chances in the game," he said.

Lithuanian Arturas Rimkevicius was the first to test the Woodlands defenders early on when he was played through by Shahrazen Said in the second minute, but he sent his shot wide.

The Woodlands goalkeeper would earn his keep by brilliantly tipping Rosmin Khamis' freekick over the bar three minutes later for a corner... which led to DPMM FC's first goal of the night.

The Woodlands defenders failed to clear Sairol Sahari's corner which fell onto Rosmin who fired an attempt.

His shot would bounce off Atsushi Shimonon's head onto striker Joao Moreira's path who finished with a fantastic overhead kick.

Shahrazen should have doubled their lead five minutes later when a Woodlands defender, once again, failed to clear the ball following a corner, but his shot went over the bar.

DPMM FC finally doubled their lead in the 16th minute when another corner by Sairol found Rodrigo Tosi at the near post.

The Brazilian midfielder skipped past Shariff Samat before blasting the ball with his left foot past helpless Yazid Yassin in the goal.

Midfielder Theerawekin Seehawong who made his debut with the club last night shocked DPMM FC in the 27th minute when he cleverly controlled a Moon Soonho cross inside the penalty box before slicing the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Chang Jo Yoon would equalise in the 33rd minute when he was given plenty of space at the edge of the penalty box to fire a shot.

Goalkeeper Wardun Hj Yussof managed to get his fingers onto the ball but failed to prevent it from finding the back of the net.

Arturas squandered a golden opportunity in the 54th minute to put DPMM back infront.

He was set one-on-one by Moreira, but his weak shot went wide for a goal-kick.

The mistake would prove costly as Moon put Woodlands in front just one minute later when he made a beautiful run behind last man Pg Salehuddin Pg Damit to latch onto a through ball by Chang before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom right corner to give his team their first lead of the night.

Simunic brought in Azwan Ali Rahman a few minutes later and the 21-year-old midfielder made an immediate impact when he set up Arturas inside the penalty box but once again the striker failed to convert.

But Chang would combine with Moon to score his second of the night. Moon picked Chang inside the penalty box, and the striker blasted the ball past the DPMM FC players and goalkeeper to find the net in the 74th minute.

Theerawekin killed the game off in the 80th minute with his second when he was the first to get to a rebound inside the penalty box before placing the ball into the bottom left corner.
