BDNOC to organise Olympic Day Run

The Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports will celebrate Olympic Day at the Temburong Sports Complex next Sunday (June 23).

His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, the president of BDNOC, is expected to attend the event.

According to a press statement from BNOC, this is the first time that Olympic Day is held in the district.

The event is scheduled to begin with registration at 6.45am preceded by an aerobics session.

Various activities will be held and are open to all age groups.

Sports activities 5-a-side footballe, kids athletics, hockey, bocce, tug-of-war, sepak takraw, futsal, netball basketball and traditional games will be contested.

Other activities include learn to swim sessions, flying fox, BDNOC exhibitions and colouring competition for children.

A lucky draw event will also be held.

Free t-shirts will be given to all participants and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Olympic Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to commemorate the birth of modern Olympics on June 23, 1984 in Athens, Greece.
